Fees

This service believes in providing an affordable service for clients and aim to ensure that finances do not prevent someone from being able to access help and support when needed.  The professional body, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends $251 per 50 minute session as a general guideline for psychological services.

You may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate for sessions if your GP has referred you on a Mental Health Care Plan prior to the session for psychological therapy. The clinical needs to accept these referrals prior to the session.

If your GP believes you are eligible for a Mental Health Plan you can receive a Medicare Rebate for a certain number of psychology therapy sessions per calendar year. This starts at 6 sessions.

Neuropsychology services are not covered under the Australia Government Medicare Rebate Scheme.

Depending on your private health scheme, you may be eligible for a rebate under Private Health Insurance (can not to be used in addition to Medicare).    If you are using Private Health Insurance the rebate amount will depend on your particular fund.

Whilst we are not a bulk billing practice, you may discuss your payment concerns with your psychologist during your first session.

A 50% deposit is taken at the time of booking for 1 hour sessions, and a deposit of $300 for assessment time slots. The neuropsychologist will block out 2-4 hours for your assessment so it is important that this time is respected.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we respectfully request

• 3 Working days notice for therapy sessions (hour sessions)
• 5 Working days notice for assessment sessions (>hour sessions)

Whilst we understand life can be unpredictable, cancellation at late notice means we are unable to offer this appointment to another client who may be on a cancellation or waiting list for an appointment.

Cancelation with less than 24 hours notice or no shows to appointments will result in you paying for the full consultation fee. Cancelations for assessments within 5 working days will incur the loss of the deposit.

We certainly understand that you may not be able to keep an appointment due to sudden illness or an unexpected personal emergency.  If this does happen to you, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know.

Remember a late cancelled appointment is a loss to:

• You, as your therapy progress is delayed
• The client who has been waiting to see the psychologist, sometimes urgently.
• The psychologist, who spent time preparing for your session

Exceptions can be provided with medical evidence.

Payment on the day is required for sessions, which is done via automatic payment the morning of the appointment via credit cards.  Assessments are payable via bank transfer of funds.

You must arrange your medicare rebate directly with Medicare, who will reimburse you for the relevant amount.
