Psychologist (General or Clinical) To apply, please send your CV and responses to the selection criteria to Elliot Ebeid (General Manager), to elliot@sydneynp.com
About the Role
Sydney Neuropsych is a neuropsychology clinic on Sydney’s North Shore, and we’re looking for a General or Clinical Psychologist who is ready for more than just a standard caseload.
This is a genuine opportunity to embed yourself early in a growing clinic; working alongside experienced neuropsychologists and building a meaningful practice within an environment that cares about its people and its clients, from assessment to ongoing care.
In addition to psychological therapy, you’ll be picking up post-diagnostic therapy and ongoing psychological support for clients who have recently completed an assessment with us.
Types of clients needing therapy include general anxiety/depression within the neurotypical population, in addition to therapeutic issues for older age clients and neurodiverse clients, and family members. That means warm referrals, informed clients, and a ready-made pathway into a consistent caseload; without the grind of cold marketing yourself from scratch and all the admin that’s involved.
Type:
Independent Contractor
Location:
Naremburn, Sydney (North Shore)
Days:
1-2 days per week, with scope to grow
Rate:
Split percentage model; $150+ per hour
Clients:
Private, NDIS, Medicare, DVA
What you'll be doing
- Providing post-diagnostic therapy and psychological support for adults and children (6+) following an assessment with the Neuropsychology team, including ADHD and Autism
- Supporting clients navigating executive functioning, anxiety, adjustment, identity, and self-understanding following diagnosis
- Working within a neuroaffirming, evidence-based framework alongside our neuropsychology team
- Contributing to the development of structured therapy programs, family group offerings, and referral pathways
- Engaging with a diverse mix of private, NDIS, Medicare, and DVA clients
- Collaborating on clinical decisions with the broader team, including intake and feedback processes
What's on offer
-
Contractor agreement with a percentage model split, commensurate with experience
-
Consistent, warm referrals from completed neuropsychological assessments; no cold caseload building
-
Direct access to and collaboration with our senior neuropsychologist, with access to neuropsychologists with substantial experience in in neurodiversity (cited in the DSM-5 for ADHD and a recommended referrer for Professor Tony Attwood for autism).
-
Potential for supervision depending on the candidates’ experience. Plenty of group PD and a budget for further training.
-
A genuine opportunity to learn the intersection of neuropsychological assessment and post-diagnostic therapy.
-
Start 1-2 days per week with a clear pathway to expand as demand grows.
-
Modern, well-appointed consulting rooms in Naremburn, a short walk from St Leonards train station and Crows Nest Metro
-
Perks of a car space depending on availability.
Who we're looking for
- AHPRA-registered Clinical Psychologist, and will consider General Psychologists
- Genuine interest and experience with therapy for neurodiverse clients (i.e., autism/ADHD) will be highly regarded.
- Experience with clients managing matters relating to neurological diagnoses and their family members (such as dementia) will be highly regarded.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience, in a public or private setting
- Strong written communication and report standards
- A collaborative, curious clinician who wants more from their role than a full diary and is looking to learn more deeply about neurodivergence.
- Applicants with a willingness to learn are welcome to apply.
Who we're looking for
Most private practice roles ask you to fill a diary. This one asks you to help shape a clinic. You will have direct mentorship from senior neuropsychologists experienced in neurological conditions such as Dementia, ADHD and Autism, plenty of professional development, a caseload from day one, and real scope to grow into a senior clinical presence.
You’ll also have access to modern clinical tools, including Heidi (AI-powered clinical documentation), to support efficient, high-quality care for our clients, so more of your day goes to clients, not paperwork.
If you are a professional who loves to do excellent work, keep learning, and be part of a team that genuinely invests in its people, we would love to hear from you.
Selection criteria:
- Evidence of qualifications as a clinical psychologist or general psychologist, outlining time of endorsement.
- Outline your experience working with clinical therapy clients, setting, and breadth of knowledge.
- Comfort working in a team environment according to the principles of the clinic.
- Please outline your start date availability, and availability through the week.
- Applicants must be able to pass a police check and a working with children check. Disclose any prior or current conditions on your AHPRA registration.
- Applicants must be able to clear a police check and a working with children check. Please also disclose any prior or current conditions on your AHPRA registration.
- Please provide two references of supervisors who have worked with you before, who consent to be contacted for a referee report after interviews and selection (please provide name, phone/email, and relationship to you).
We are committed to a neuroaffirming and equitable recruitment process. If you require any adjustments or support to participate fully, please don’t hesitate to reach out admin@sydneynp.com, Attn: Elliot
